In the end, every consideration is one of effort. It can cost money to replace dashboards that are destroyed by sun and heat, or it can cost money to replace worn out window actuators. Money = work = effort. Also, putting up sun shades or cracking the window is effort.

Abstractly, having to run the AC for a longer duration due to heat will cost more money, which takes effort to make. But then again, buying a sun shade takes effort as well.

Heck, even global warming is an argument about effort. Does it take more effort now to reduce the negative consequences of global warming, or would it take more effort later to mitigate those consequences (rhetorical question)?
