I waited 40 years until it got so bad I could jog and it would feel like my junk was falling out. Got it fixed and 3 years later they had to go back in when sutures started coming out of the same area. $5800 for the redo and I had to pay another co-pay. It was not a good day to be working in the hospital when I went in the second time, a very unhappy camper.

Glad you didn't have to leave 'the world.'
40-years! I'm amazed.I went 5-years before my other side got repaired.Laproscopic.Small incision/inflation/mesh insertion/stapling/suture.It's held great since 2002.
Having to go back in would be a tough one.
