My dad's back was injured a few times by the time that my childhood was over. The last time he had a good job in San José, California, and his work accommodated his bad back by giving him one of those kneeling chairs. He noticed that a wheel was wobbly, so he left a note for maintenance, and the next day the wheel came loose, jerking his back a few inches, and he was unable to hold down a job for five years.

So yes, chairs may try to kill you, or at least ruin your life.
