Cool, looks great! Id like to see the results.
Not sure about the engine heat, but I would have at least the same open area for exit air as you do for inlet air.
Someone mentioned about oil change access which is a good idea. One other thing I would do is to locate the AC evaporator drain and make it so it can drain out the bottom.
