That's a great looking design. The ability to not only capture "pumping energy" but also actively pump the damper oil is great, allowing them to control pitch and dive body motion during dynamic manoevers.

This would be one of those bits that would easily integrate into a vehicle's various driving modes, where in, say, Eco mode it would reduce body motion control and favor energy capture. In Sport mode it could be set to favor body control over energy capture.

I'm not sure how much electrical power the current MR damper technologies use to constantly vary the damper fluid's viscosity, but a system like this could likely perform in a similar fasion while using far less energy, and even generating energy if desired.
