I had to drive someone 100 miles to hospital after they got a phone call to say a donor organ had become available and could they get there ASAP? I have never before or since driven at such sustained high speed (with due regard for safety). Since then I assume that someone wanting to overtake in a tearing hurry must have a good reason to do so.
