I definitely notice that longer glides give better FE (but haven't gotten all the data to thouroughly quantify it). Some of that I'm sure comes from the slower vehicle speed, some of it I would imagine also comes from the "lost" momentum energy that happens on every shutdown and the required re-start energy.
