I remember that. The extra 6% makes sense to me. The civic is more aerodynamic than the Fit, so it suffers less at highway speeds (so glides better). It's also running 2500 rpm at 60 instead of the Fit's 2900. As mentioned earlier (and as you WELL know), better gearing brings the steady speed closer to p&g.
