Looks like Honda did a little bit of tweaking since these articles were written. They bumped the city mpg up to 50. Highway is still at 45, and combined is 47 mpg. This is for the hybrid, not the plugin hybrid. The plugin is rated at 47 city / 46 hwy / 47 combined.
Does anyone have any idea what was done?
