Got the winter tires on, had a few flakes in the air today but there is more snow in a can of spray for a christmas tree. Over all the FE hit wasn't so bad when I had them at full PSI but I don't think the held the high PSI as it got worse after a few commutes. I always get them on early because I do it myself. I don't want to be out there in the cold when I need them, I'd rather do it when it's 10 degrees out.
Then I did a passenger mirror delete and finally finished my grid charger install. However I got a P1444 code with the grid charger, anyone else get that? I did a search over on insightcentral and it said it was probably a problem with the fan wiring, and sure enough disconect all the wires and the code didn't come back. Have either the + or the - of the fan connected (or both) and the code comes back. First trip to work after the mirror delete and grid charge and 16mpg more than my trip avg with the winter tires so far.
Turns out P1444 was from having a voltage meter that was causing the HV ground and 12v ground for the fan to allow leakage. Put in Diodes on both the ground wires to block the reverse flow when the car is on.
