This bike represents all I like in a bike. Single cylinder, single carburetor, 5 speeds and a fairly long stroke in relation to bore size which provides good low end torque and better efficiency, almost dirt cheap.
I may at some point try some streamlining but hopefully by that time my 3 wheeler project will be roadworthy, hopefully by next summer. At that point my two wheeled riding may end so mods and streamlining may not happen since I will probably sell both of the remaining bikes to pay for the work on the 3 wheeler.
So far that has worked out great. Assuming the estimated mileage for the 3 wheeler (thanks aerohead) is close to the real world figures, it would take a lot of work to get a bike to the same MPG.
Bottom line is the bike is a transitional means to provide me with high MPG until the 3 wheeler is roadworthy. At that point I will probably sell both bikes. In the span of 18 months that will provide me with close to $12k in funding while giving me low cost transportation at practically no cost other than insurance and fuel.
If successful, the 3 wheeler may even replace the Fiesta, leaving the truck for hauling stuff and nasty day driving.
regards
