My inspiration is a non hybrid version of Dave Pelmear's 80 MPG "e" LX Mustang Notch
I've been very busy with road inspection and other work. I've used a 1.6 liter 1992 Mitsubishi Galant sedan and my dads old Camry style Front drive Central Fuel Injection Corona 1832 cc sedan, and not gotten better than US 22.4 MPG with my standard 780 mile monthly inspection on coarse chip seal with 3300 feet rises over 90 miles being the common theme. And with a tight dead line for completion, I cannot be gentle with the throttle or drop below a 50 mph average speed for 16 hours driving. Always two lane, undivided centreline, behind trucks and caper vans and tourists.
My Mustang is to use a brainj style body kit (see Four Eyed Pride
http://vb.foureyedpride.com/showthre...steel-body-kit), but with a see through version of the old Citroën rear wheel spats, and a variation of the Probe IV front wheel spat.
I cannot do any metal work to the eyebrow wheel arches on the 79 to 93 Foxes, so fitting it all in is taking some extra work.
NB//To See Four Eyed Pride brianj's 22 gage body kit, you might have to log in, but a google search under images and "brianj four eyed pride Front air dam and full steel body kit" should yield a picture or two

The Aussie Falcon 4.1 EECIV EFI kit will start as a triple carb kit based on three old 2300 series 350 cfm Holleys, with water and alcohol/acetone anti knock injection (ADI) to protect my 12.7:1 compression from detonating.
I'm using the AOD with stock 2.73 gears, and may go up to the 250 cubic inch Ford six used in many of our Aussie Fords.
My company does fuel economy estimates based on engine capacity, road load and gearing, and I've drafted a quick assessment that fuel consumption should approach 29 us mpg at 62 mph with the stock 0.44 drag factor and 1.94 sq m/20.87 ft frontal area.
With AOD trans, soft head high compression engine with ADI and road load reduction, hopefully making 0.26 cd, and with an increase to 240 section tires, I hope to reach 40 US miles per gallon at 62 mph.
