I needed to go to Prescott AZ again for school, this time I planned my drive a little differently so as to avoid the interstate section of the Las Vegas area. I think I lost some FE on a previous trip when I was forced to drive 65MPH to stay with the flow of traffic. I left Burley Idaho Friday 11/15/13 at 4:30pm and drove to Twin Falls ID, then Ely NV, then St. George UT, then Flagstaff AZ, then Prescott AZ. I hopped to do it on one tank spending $35, taking about 22 hours driving 40 MPH to cover the 880 miles to get there.
I ran out of gas in Flagstaff at 2:30pm the next day.
I think the wind storm those last 2 hours are what killed me from breaking my record.
It only took me 21 hours and 45 minutes to travel that 801 miles on 10.3 gallons.
Mapquest says it should have been 13 hours 50 minutes and its really 796 miles.
Not too bad as far as odometer reporting correctly.
