I patiently waited for my HX! She and I have a long future together!

Mcrews, that kit is awesome! Thanks for sharing, I had not seen that!

To be honest, I wish that I had a Prius, just for the drive to my parents' house. I got 47 MPG on my last trip and I only started ecomodding her. It is frustrating to think that despite my best efforts at hypermiling, an idiot in a Prius still gets better mileage, while cutting me off!

Wait, the 2,001 Prius is rated 42/41! It has all of the advantage in-city, but its highway rating is only 5% higher than mine, which I beat regularly! Yay me!

Yes, so, the drive to my parents' house. 165 miles and my car does not have cruise control. With plenty of hills (mountains and canyons, too), I start coasting as I crest the hill, lose as much speed as possible, and then coast until I feel that I need to slow down again, when I will shift back into gear, and probably down-shift.

My lady Chorizo handles canyons well at 85 MPH, but since the speed limit is 55, I run the risk of dying or worse, being ticketed!

I figure that in a Prius, I would set the cruise control and just try to stay between the lines and stay awake.

Of course, the current Prius gets 51/48, but I could not find any Prius of any year in my price range, just salvage titles with much more mileage than my HX for $4-5,000.
