Radiation exists in the environment naturally. Radon Gas for example seeps up into people's houses in some parts of the UK and elsewhere. People living in those houses would be far more likely to die from crossing the road than due to radiation poisoning.
In fact you will get more radiation poisoning from Bananas :
Americans eating fish from the Pacific are more likely to die from overeating and obesity than radiation from the fish. And Nuclear power is the safest power we have available, and reduces GHGs if thats your bag.
