What is the rest of the exhaust like?
Not sure if this is the case with the HX, but on the VX an over sized exhaust messes with the exhaust pulses enough that it will kill o2 sensors.
Most exhaust pipes have a muffler of sorts in the center of the car too called a resonator, if that has been replaced with a straight pipe it will make the car louder.
