Very disappointing Dodge Journey mileage

Well, the results are in...
I went from a 2003 Chevy Venture Van, 3.4, auto 4 speed POC to a 2010 Dodge Journey, 3.5, auto 6 speed and LOST 3.1 MPG
AAUUGGHH!!
