I had an '89 Accord and could hear the difference in airflow with the lights popped up.

It's worth mentioning that the mpg hit from the pop up lights up also includes the additional electrical load. So it won't translate exactly to a 4 mpg savings by going to the flush mounts - but it's going to be better than before.
