Sorry to bring up an old post but.....
Back in school, I had a 1997 tbird and a little honda spree 50cc scooter. Since my house was only six blocks from school I would take the scooter. That little 50cc would only go about 28mph after a full tune up. I can't remember the gas milage. I took it all apart and "ported" the intake and exhaust. I just smothed everything out and got rid of any rough edges or sharp corners. Put it all back together and it would do 32 mph and it bumped the mpg 15% too. With all that being said, the best thing about that scooter was that I would park it right by the door to the engineering building and the other guys would have to hike in from the far parking lots. HA! I loved that tiny thing!
