I did a write up back in 2009 about my dual purpose performance/fuel mileage Del Sol on D-Series.org. It went over really well!!! Over 37k views and almost 400 responses. Lots of positive feed back and it inspired the younger tuner community to start building their cars for fuel mileage also.

In my first post I said "why not have your cake and eat it too"??? This made them realize I wasn't there to change them from modifying their cars for performance, but while most were doing some type of FE mod already why not start thinking outside the box and try to do more FE mods also???

For me I get more negative responses from FE forums then performance forums. Including this one in the beginning and even to this day I feel I don't belong here? There is a strange click between both types of car enthusiasts? lol

This is why I'm extremely happy with F1 this year. Starting this Sunday F1 introduces the Hybrid power units that are only allowed 100 kg an hour of fuel flow. The average F1 fan can't stand the idea that F1 now has went after fuel efficiency to bring in more OEM manufacturers to the table. Even though these new F1 cars could be more powerful and faster then last years car???

Hopefully F1 will fix this disconnect between the two types of car enthusiasts.
