Agreed.
Not to take away from the drivers, but it kind of was a series of big pulses and glides (whether they knew it or not), with a really big (favourable) net elevation change:
- Pulse: starting at ~3800 ft, climb to ~4200 ft.
- Glide: descend to~1100 ft.
- Pulse: climb back to ~4300 ft.
- Glide: descend to ~sea level
The winner, Aaron Gold reported keeping it around 45-55 mph, and coasting his 5-speed manual car on the downhills.
