Glad I found this thread.
Does anyone have an online source for the HUB MOTOR? I am looking for just the motor on a 26 inch rim. Nothing else. I can not seem to find anyone selling this. Most places want to sell you a kit for $300 to $500 or more (I was thinking $200 with shipping included).
I do not mind getting a brushed motor. Want to use it as an assist motor so it will be wired with a spring operated switch (dead man switch) direct to the battery. My thoughts are to use this when I get tired of my commute (20 miles one way) to get home or up the hills. Eventually I will experiment with controllers and other switch technology.
