I have done this in a couple 2-door VW GTIs that I've owned, that i never cared to carry passengers in.....besides my dog who loves the huge cargo area! I also used 1/8" thick styrene plastic as I was sure any wood I'd buy would end up getting wet eventually, swelling, and then destroying my work. Used 3m heavy duty spray adhesive to affix my carpeting which I usually get online from a audio/speakerbox company in Chicago....i think its called Kings or something?
