Researched that too, but it sounded like that's temporary, as the welded manifolds crack again within a relatively short period of time. There's probably a "right" way to weld it, though I don't know which local welder would be willing to do the weld and which would be able to do it "right". It'd probably be enough to smog this time around, but then I expect I'd have to deal with the same issue again next time.

For someone that has the time & inclination, that'd be a reasonable way to go.
