Good advice to avoid guessing about part numbers for the gear swap, unless required. But there is no guessing involved in swapping a fifth gen trans onto a sixth gen engine. It has been done countless times as a plain bolt-on, without any mods. I did it: a 1993 CX onto my 1998 D16 engine. Seriously, if taller gearing is the point the biggest bang for the simplest swap is the 1992-1995 VX/CX transmission. Check the table that leads this thread. The fifth gear is the same, VX/CX - HX, but the FD is far taller on the VX/CX. Just saying... it's true.

I will rebuild Black and Green over decades as parts die, until it becomes a different car of roughly the same shape and color. My minimum fuel economy goal is 55 mpg while averaging posted speed limits. I generally top 60 mpg. See also my Honda manual transmission specs thread.
