I'm guessing with that trike (seems to be the same model as what I posted) you'd want the sides open so you could lean further to the inside to keep the thing from tipping on a turn. Probably part of the reason these aren't made by more reputable companies.
I would agree though that sides would make it more aero, and a better nose would help too (something like a vetter kit's).
