It's illegal to remove the external rearview mirrors where I live. Some older cars can still have only the driver's side external rearview mirror, but it's not so usual, and even some vintage collection cars are retrofitted with passenger-side mirrors.
Anyway, even if you would consider to get a quick-release setup for the mirrors, maybe the motorcycle mirrors would still be good due to their lower drag.
