The car was wrecked, the insurance company totaled it, the title was "salvage" (or whatever the term is for a totaled car in CA), and Baltothewolf notified the buyer of the accident (or said he would)... since the car was not repaired to its original state (as I understand it), the buyer certainly would been able to determine damage from the accident before paying the money.

I agree with others here... once the buyer pays what you've agreed upon and you sign over the title, it's out of your hands. Don't need to be rude about it, but it is not your problem anymore.
