its not useless, if you have more material, i would extend it further to the sides, wrap around hte bumper so that it smoothly directs air past the tires.
also, depending on how rough/smooth and how low hanging underbody stuff is will determine how effective it is.

my other question is how strong is it. a flat plane with support only at the top, does it fold over in the wind
