We have caller ID that shows the number on the TV and have been on the DNC list since it's inception.
If I decide to answer the phone, I just don't say anything and wait for the other party to initiate any conversation. This establishes a connection (and tells them my number is legit) but the computer generated calls will always hang up if you do not make any noise.
