Like others have stated, not likely related to engine on coasting. My immediate assumption is that it is a result of the car being 15 years old and only 110k miles. Perhaps the car made a lot of short "cold" trips during it's life.
Either way, good luck with the replacement. Hopefully it improves your mileage!
