I first visited LA on a smoggy day in 1994. My eyes burned. Even as dramatically improved as things are from their low in the 1960s/1970s CA still has most of the smoggiest cities in the country.
I sometimes wish I didn't live here. Haha.

I lived in No Cal from '68 to '78 and had to make many flights to LA for work. I've been in LA on these days. Couldn't see a single block from the hotel window. And, yes, my eyes burned from the H2SO4 and HNO3 in the air. Now, it is much better.
