No harm intended - Texas has a similar stereotype of "must have a truck even for 1 bag of groceries" to Smithers, B.C. where I grew up. The Ford dealership says "This is Ford country". What they mean is that they sell more pickups than cars!
I wish we had mandatory annual safety testing here in Ontario. We only require one when there is change of ownership...

Bummer about the catalytic converter. They are a great technology but I hear they can be quite expensive.
