funny thing, "tony" was a derogatory name for an italian (i'm 1/2 italian) during the early 1900's.

more on topic, i can see the term "hypermiler" becoming derogatory with all the negative press its received. the news likes to grab one catch phrase out of the pile and run it into the ground.
out of hyper/eco prefixes, i prefer "eco" anyways. i feel it gives a more descriptive overall picture of this movement.
hypermiler vs. ecomiler
hyperdriver vs. ecodriver
hypermodder vs. ecomodder
i say we ditch "hyper-" and let them run it into oblivion, and we keep the "eco-"
