Actually, how would an MOT place even test if a DPF is working ?
When my car was made (2007) DPFs were optional.
The muppet of the first owner specified it but the emissions test should compare my car to to the standards of 2007 without DPF.
So how would they know if it wasn't working and my car passed the non-DPF standard anyway ?
MOT testers are not allowed to plug in OBD stuff or take anything apart - for example they can test brakes on a test rig but aren't even allowed to remove a wheel to look at the material.
I think this is a smokescreen - to coin a phrase.
