precision measurement of fuel

I was trying to figure out how to measure small quantities of fuel in my 1965 Honda 50. With a 3 liter fuel tank and an estimated 145 MPG, I think I have found a solution.

Take a plastic oil container of 1 quart capacity. Put a hole in the top and stick a piece of plastic fuel hose through the hole. Fill the container with fuel, remove the gas cap, stand the container with the cap on the fuel filler opening. Lower the seat to hold it in place and let gravity do the job.

Remove the container and carefully measure the difference in the amount of fuel in the container. Easily capable of measuring down to 1/2 ounce of fuel.
