I assure you that minimum wage is enough to live on by yourself. Not that you would want to, but most of the rest of the world lives on less. I've lived on much less just for the fun of seeing how much of my paycheck I could bank. Of course, I didn't have a girlfriend at the time, so I didn't have to impress anyone.

OT, but this reminds me of the false assertion of some people that say that the minimum wage in the U.S. isn't a "living wage", or that we should even have a minimum wage at all. How dare the government tell me what is the least amount I can agree to trade my labor for. It's no less outrageous than saying that $15/hr is the maximum wage.
