Cool

Hi Dave!

Just to confirm, it looks from your signature that you have one of those Toyota-based RV's?

If so, this conversion could work out perfect.

There is an adapter kit available that was originally intended for Suzuki Samauries. The idea of the kit was to swap to a VW TDI motor and Toyota transmission/transfer case. Basically, the kit contains a modified flywheel and an adapter plate for the motor/tranny.

Regarding my information about this, once I decided the best solution was a VW TDI engine, I found a great website, with very helpful folks: TDIclub.com

Fred's TDI Page. TDIClub.com. VW TDI Enthusiast Community

The forums have a huge amount of information about VW diesels - from simple maintenance to optimizing for efficiency to serious diesel hot-rodding.

There's also a thread about people's conversion projects, which now includes some very good ones about Toyota 4-runners and pick-ups. An RV would be a seriously fun addition!

I was among the first Toyota truck projects:

Hope this helps!
