Historically, no GM FWD anything is geared for performance anyway. GM's typical idea of a performance transmission is to numerically raise the differential ratio of the econobox until first gear is useless and ship it out, not to actually deliver an optimized gear set. The Cruze Eco is not one of those cars.
The 1.8L, Eco and standard turbo all have different gear sets, amazingly... the Eco automatic is also tuned differently as far as shift points etc...
