I bet the window screen has at least 50% of the resistance of a plywood sheet at high speeds though. Seems like a lot of turbulence would be generated.

The grill blocks on our cars also push air up, over, and around a vehicle that has good aerodynamics. The semi - it doesn't matter where the air goes around - it's not good.
