And if bringing collisions with larger vehicles into the equation, a full 23% of multi-vehicle collision fatalities were passenger car vs large truck, in which case splitting hairs of hatchback vs sedan ain't gonna make much difference. The SUV driver who thinks big n heavy = safe needs to remember that he's twice as likely to die in a rollover accident as a passenger car driver.
