Overall I personally agree, hatchbacks (as well as all other cars) are plenty safe. I just think the ratings are misleading. Overall I think way to much is actually put into car safety. If you just remove all the dumb actions, speeding, no seat belts, driving impaired, etc. You are very unlikely to die in a car crash period.
