I want to make a portable parallel PHEV pack for my Insight, using 36 10Ah LiFePO4 cells for just under 120V (the voltage of the 2nd gen Insight pack hovers between 99 an 122 volt, but usually sits around 107 Volt).
Portable so I can charge it at home and at work, and cheap enough to carry financially too.
I'm thinking of using 3 '36 V' (=~ 38.4V ) 10Ah EV bike packs in series, as they come with BMS and chargers and installing them would be relatively easy.
If I can use the 1.2 kWh fully on each commute (twice daily) I'd save over a liter a day. ROI within 2 years. Crazy, or maybe not?
