I respectfully completely disagree xyz. My advice was based on the air flow being right and it's not. Somehow the polarity was reversed. The symptoms described are exactly what would happen with reversed air flow. Even if I had to snip the wires, reverse them and use butt connectors, the airflow must be from front to rear. Of that I am 100% sure and balto just saved himself a wasted teardown.

If there are only two wires to each fan (ass-uming more than one fan), switch them, even if only temporarily. If more than two (per fan) then it gets more complicated but you have to reverse polarity.
