Live axle gets a lot of flak it doesn't deserve. I have put a lot of miles on a lot of both IRS and live axle equipment, the ride difference isn't that great. Handling is maybe a slightly different question, but then even when I was more about performance, handling wasn't something I was concerned about. I really don't see the big hullabaloo about great handling cars. Even my Echo does more than well enough, and it's a crappy handling car by today's standards. My mustang was a handful but able to keep up with a lot of modern equipment provided you were very much paying attention.

In all fairness, I'm going to get a hot rod next year. We're talking solid axles front and rear, most likely both with transverse leafs. Hey, the latter is Corvette stuff!
