Yes.

It will still block air from entering the radiator and will produce a bubble effect with the air in front of the grill, thus the air being forced up and or around.

If you can easily access the back of the grill, just zip tie your plate to the back of the grill. By using a black painted plate and zips your mod will be inconspicuous.
