This is how it is now. I watched the air intake temps with the cold air intake. And now without the cold air intake. During acceleration, there is no difference in temperature. Durong ideling, the temperature is 1 degree higher. Not much. When temperatures outside climb, i will keep track of the temperature to see if i need to make a new cold air intake.
The left box with the green sticker on it is the air filter box. In the right under corner is the intake hole.

Well. I kept track of tje temperatures. If you stand still en do verry slow trafic in the hotter weather. The air intake temps went in 5 minutes up to dubble! Instead of 22degrees celsius. It went to 45 :O
Looks like i gonne need build a cold air intake.
I filled the car up. Super news. Got a new record!
1217km with 68,5liters =5,63l !!!
Removing the restriction was a good idea.
Back again about water injection. Does realy nobody has good info about it?

Ok. This was easyer then i tought.
Kost me almost nothing.
It now sucks air from between the headlight and the radiator. So it sucks air that is in front of the radiator. Probably a lot cooler then air from unther the hood when you stand still or do slow trafic. Waiting for paint until i see that it is still good and this does not harm my milage.
The tube coming out of the airboxfilter is a 75mm. I went from 75 to 80mm. And there also from 80mm to 100mm. Why? I dont know. I think a turn is a restriction. So i go bigger. And because it came nicer out with this diameter.

There are some kits supposed to be plug-n-play.

Last weekend i went to a nearby country to do something with the car that probably nobody can gues. Teaser vid will be uploaded withing 5 days.
I meant with the water injection not sites who sells kits. But info about people who use it for eco. So i know how much water they inject and how much water they use. How much profit they make. Or the amount of diesel saved can pay the cost of the water and the installation.
I filled the car up before i went to that event.
30l for 511km. That is 5,87l/100km

Temperatures are dropping already and it takes a long time, like 20 minutes, before the coolant water is at temperature. So I want to block the upper grill opening. But here is the catch. I cant make an aerodynamic plate to fill the small holes in the bumper. So i want to know. Is it ok. If i mount a flat plate behind the small holes?
Thanks

There is since short a brand new gasstation down the road. A bit closer to home then the one i use normal. Both are on the way to work. So i drive past it. It filles up slower then the other stations. I filled it up to the same level as always. But it is only 69l. Instead of 71-72l... So calculations are made.
I finally broke the 1300km on one tank
5,3l/100km for 1304km with 69,17l.
After the weekend. I aim going to make an upper grill blok. Somehow. Stil dont know how to do it :P

Yes.
It will still block air from entering the radiator and will produce a bubble effect with the air in front of the grill, thus the air being forced up and or around.
If you can easily access the back of the grill, just zip tie your plate to the back of the grill. By using a black painted plate and zips your mod will be inconspicuous.

I found a nice solution for the grill block. I stole the idea from the web. I searched for grill block. And i saw a picture of a prius using tube isolation to block the grill. So i used the same.
If u dont know annything about the grill block. You probably wont even recognice it
And it sits pritty flush with the surface.
I watched the temps. Max temp on slow driving. When fully warmd up. Is not higher then normal 88 -89 degrees celcius. Temps on long highway driving (40km) drafting a big rig, is not higher then normal. Outside temp is 21 degrees celcius. Intake air temp was only a 1 degree celcius higher then normal.
And another nice thing: faster warm up. Normally after 12km temps is at 70 degree celcius (temp with needle on dash at the good temperature). Now it was after 5 a 6km
Best thing yet. Cost me about 1,5 € (2$)
