...and, the reasons for switching to a larger engine were:

1) obtain more TORQUE at lower engine RPMS
2) which permitted use of lower CVT final ratio
3) obtain better FUEL ECONOMY (+10%)
4) make Atkinson engine more EFFICIENT overall
5) standardize engine block production for lower production costs
