VX was replaced by the HX for that generation. HX was only available as a coupe. Looks like the hatch for that generation was either CX or DX according to Wikipedia.

As far as the price goes, that'll partially depend on the local market. If its unmolested/minimally molested, seems like its in good shape, and a manual, I would say that $2900 would be an ok price, neither good or bad.
