People will slow down, gawk and want to get closer to see whats different. They'll hang out in your blind spot looking at the car making it nearly impossible to merge into another lane.
I have been nearly hit (inches) several times by gawkers.
I understand that you want to get the word out about saving fuel. However, people are stupid and will end up endangering you and others.
Just do what I do instead. When somebody approaches me about or with questions, I hand them a card that directs them to my build thread and this site in general.

But I hear you though. I'm too curious to not try it out though. I had my tail rode by two 16-wheelers on I-77 Northbound on Wednesday afternoon. I was going 55 in a 65, and they both gave me a loud horn after following behind me impatiently for about 20 seconds...in the far right lane...of a 4 lane highway. Geez. I think the sign would have avoided them dragging behind me for so long.

Thanks bro. I don't mind it as well, surprisingly. I had planned to paint them from the get-go. So, unfortunately, I didn't go for the stainless bolts/washers this time. Looks like they will need to be painted.
I do plan to reskin all the panels in that post with CF vinyl in the near future. Maybe I'll swap out the hardware at that point? May just run them un-painted in the interim and see how long it takes them to rust.
